On inheriting his father’s woodturning tools and lathe, Alan’s passion for woodturning was ignited.
His father was a very skilled woodworker who initially worked for Wignall’s in Knaresborough. They were part of the Yorkshire Critters movement, all their pieces of furniture and other items bore an emblem of a bee.
Alan is now settled in the Cotswolds, having moved to the area from Yorkshire in the early 1990s for work reasons. Now semi-retired and very much enjoying time in his workshop, he turns modern and traditional pieces from a variety of woods.
